Whether you’re craving sci-fi, true crime, comedy, romance or emotional real-life stories, here are all the major OTT releases landing on your screens this week.

If you’re looking for fresh additions to your watchlist, this is one of the most exciting weeks of 2024. Netflix kicks off the long-anticipated beginning of the end with Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1, where Eleven and the Hawkins crew prepare for a final face-off against Vecna. Bollywood fans can look forward to Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, the digital premiere of a chaotic wedding-comedy filled with fake relationships, real emotions, and plenty of confusion.

Hollywood adds more sparkle with Kevin Hart’s latest stand-up special Acting My Age, while true-crime enthusiasts get a gripping new season of Missing: Dead or Alive?. Apple TV brings a trio of big releases—Jingle Bell Heist, Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age, and the final chapter of the animated sci-fi WondLa. Documentary lovers also get two deeply emotional, investigative stories: Born Hungry on JioHotstar and The Stringer on Netflix.

Kevin Hart: Acting My Age (Netflix – November 24)

Kevin Hart returns with his fifth Netflix comedy special, and this time, he’s hilariously confronting life in his forties. Acting My Age is packed with Hart’s trademark blend of physical humour and personal anecdotes as he reflects on ageing bodies, parenting mishaps, intimacy pills, and the absurdities of adult life.

Recorded in a single high-energy performance, the 69-minute special offers a relatable and fun take on getting older—complete with unexpected injuries and big laughs. For comedy fans, this is an easy weekend pick.

Missing: Dead or Alive? Season 2 (Netflix – November 24)

The gripping docu-series returns with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s Missing Persons Unit once again racing against time to locate people who have vanished under mysterious and troubling circumstances.

With investigators JP Smith and Captain Heidi Jackson taking center stage, season two dives deeper into cases filled with cold leads, conflicting testimonies, and new evidence that overturns old assumptions. Blending body-cam footage, interviews, and meticulous detective work, this season aims to shed light not only on the cases but also on the emotional toll such investigations take on families and officers.

Jingle Bell Heist (Apple TV – November 26)

Holiday season meets rom-com heist in Jingle Bell Heist, starring Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells. The story follows Sophia and Nick—two struggling hourly workers—who team up to rob a luxurious London department store on Christmas Eve.

But what begins as a crime caper soon turns into something more personal as romance disrupts their carefully planned heist. Featuring performances by Lucy Punch, Peter Serafinowicz, and Poppy Drayton, the film blends festive ambience, comedy, and unexpected emotional turns.

Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age (Apple TV – November 26)

Narrated by Tom Hiddleston, Prehistoric Planet returns with a spectacular new five-episode season set in the Pleistocene era. This period, more than 20,000 years after the dinosaurs, brings to life creatures such as woolly mammoths, sabre-toothed cats, giant bears, and other extraordinary megafauna.

Produced by Jon Favreau and Mike Gunton, with a soundtrack from Hans Zimmer and Anže Rozman, this season promises stunning reconstructions of vast frozen landscapes and the survival challenges faced by extinct species. With cutting-edge VFX and scientific accuracy, Ice Age offers one of the most immersive prehistoric experiences available on OTT.

WondLa Season 3 (Apple TV – November 26)

The beloved animated sci-fi series returns for its final season as Eva (voiced by Jeanine Mason) faces her most challenging mission yet. With the alien world of Orbona on the brink of war, Eva, along with her robot guardian MUTHR, giant tardigrade Otto, and loyal friend Rovender, must recover the stolen Heart of the Forest.

Based on Tony DiTerlizzi’s acclaimed book trilogy, the concluding season emphasizes unity with the powerful message: There is no them. There is only us. Epic world-building, emotional depth, and rich animation make this a must-watch for families and sci-fi lovers alike.

Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 (Netflix – November 27)

The beginning of the end is finally here. Nearly 18 months after the events of Season 4, Stranger Things returns for its fifth and final season. Volume 1 brings viewers back to Hawkins in the fall of 1987, now under government occupation and facing an unprecedented military quarantine.

Vecna has returned—stronger and deadlier than ever—and Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, and Max must prepare for an all-out war. The original cast, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Natalia Dyer, and others, reunites along with newcomers Linda Hamilton, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux.

The Duffer Brothers describe the finale as “eight blockbuster movies’ worth of story,” making this release the week’s biggest worldwide OTT event.

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (Netflix – November 27)

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor headline this vibrant family rom-com set against the chaos of modern wedding culture. Dhawan plays Sunny Sanskari, a tradition-loving Mumbaikar who agrees to pose as Tulsi’s (Kapoor) boyfriend to sabotage the wedding of her ex, Vikram (Rohit Saraf). The twist? Vikram’s fiancée is Sunny’s ex, Ananya (Sanya Malhotra).

What starts as a favour soon spirals into misunderstandings, cultural clashes, comedic blunders, and unexpected emotions. As Sunny and Tulsi fake their relationship, the line between pretense and real affection slowly blurs. Expect colourful celebrations, catchy music, and heartfelt moments.

Born Hungry (JioHotstar – November 28)

This emotionally charged documentary follows celebrity chef Sash Simpson as he confronts the buried wounds of his childhood. Abandoned as a little boy on the streets of Chennai, adopted in Canada, and later haunted by unanswered questions, Sash returns to India to piece together his past.

Produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas and directed by Barry Avrich, Born Hungry blends personal interviews, archival footage, and real-time discovery. The film explores themes of identity, belonging, memory, and resilience, offering a moving look at one man’s search for closure and reconnection.

The Stringer: The Man Who Took The Photo (Netflix – November 28)

This investigative documentary revisits the legacy of one of the Vietnam War’s most iconic images—the 1972 “Napalm Girl” photograph widely credited to AP photographer Nick Ut. The film follows journalist Gary Knight and a team of researchers as they uncover compelling evidence suggesting that the photo may actually have been taken by former Saigon editor Nguyễn Thành Nghệ.

Their findings challenge decades of accepted journalistic history and spark a contentious debate with Associated Press over authorship, ethics, and the politics of war photography. For history enthusiasts and documentary fans, this is a gripping and thought-provoking watch.

From mega-budget finales to intimate documentaries, this week’s OTT releases span a remarkable range of genres and storytelling styles. Whether you want to dive into Hawkins one last time, discover heartwarming holiday tales, explore ancient megafauna, or enjoy Bollywood romance, the week of November 24–30 brings some of 2024’s most exciting digital premieres.
