नेशनल इन्वेस्टिगेशन एजेंसी (NIA) ने बुधवार को गैंगस्टर अन्मोल बिश्नोई को दिल्ली एयरपोर्ट पर गिरफ्तार कर लिया। वह अमेरिका से डिपोर्ट होकर भारत पहुंचा था। अन्मोल को बाबा सिद्दीकी हत्याकांड का ‘मुख्य साज़िशकर्ता’ माना जाता है। उसका असाइलम आवेदन लुइसियाना की अदालत ने खारिज कर दिया था।
अधिकारियों के अनुसार, अन्मोल बिश्नोई 2022 से फरार था और लॉरेंस बिश्नोई के आतंक सिंडिकेट से जुड़े मामले में गिरफ्तार होने वाला 19वां आरोपी है। मार्च 2023 में NIA ने उसकी चार्जशीट दाखिल की थी, जिसमें आरोप लगाया गया था कि उसने गोल्डी बरा और लॉरेंस बिश्नोई को 2020–2023 के बीच हुई कई आतंकी गतिविधियों में सक्रिय रूप से सहायता प्रदान की।
जांच में यह भी सामने आया कि अन्मोल अमेरिका में बैठकर भारत में गैंग के आतंकी ऑपरेशन, शूटर्स को शरण, लॉजिस्टिक सपोर्ट, और अन्य गतिविधियों का संचालन कर रहा था। वह विदेश से ही फिरौती (extortion) और अन्य आपराधिक गतिविधियों को अंजाम दे रहा था।
NIA का कहना है कि एजेंसी आतंकियों, गैंगस्टरों और हथियार तस्करों के बीच के नेटवर्क को खत्म करने पर लगातार काम कर रही है, जिसमें उनकी फंडिंग चैनल और इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर भी शामिल हैं।
Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, the alleged main plotter in the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique, has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) after being deported from the United States. Anmol, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, landed in Delhi on Wednesday
after a Louisiana court rejected his asylum plea.According to NIA officials, Anmol Bishnoi had been absconding since 2022 and is the 19th accused to be arrested in connection with the Bishnoi-led terror syndicate case. He was chargesheeted in March 2023 for allegedly assisting designated terrorist Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in multiple terror activities carried out in India between 2020 and 2023.
The NIA spokesperson said investigations revealed that Anmol was running the gang’s terror operations from the US, providing logistic support, shelter, and operational instructions to shooters on the ground.
He was also involved in extortion from foreign soil, coordinating with other gang members to execute targeted killings and illegal financial activities.The agency stated that efforts are underway to dismantle the nexus between terrorists, gangsters, and arms smugglers, and identify their funding channels and infrastructure.
